When travellers alight at Chikmagalur bus stand, they cross the road and head to this eatery that has a reputation for serving simple, unfussy, old fashioned vegetarian fare for over three decades now. In the transformation that has swept through most of this coffee town, one is thankful for places like Soundarya Hotel that stands resolutely holding on its old fashioned decor and values, serving tasty tiffin, meals and coffee at extremely affordable prices, endearing it to both travellers (in the know) and locals alike. On my last morning in Chikmagalur, I stopped here for a quick breakfast and made a mental note to return for more.
